  Location: Chicagoland and surrounding regions

The Summer Intern will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers to gain hands-on experience in construction management and civil engineering projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while contributing to ongoing projects.

• Assist with on-site inspections and documentation of construction activities.
• Support the Resident Engineer and project team in ensuring project compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and schedules.
• Prepare daily reports, maintain logs of construction activities, and document site conditions.
• Participate in progress meetings and assist in the resolution of on-site challenges.
• Conduct data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Learn and use construction management software to track project progress and documentation.
• Assist with quality control measures to ensure adherence to project standards.
• Observe and gain exposure to project planning, contractor coordination, and field operations.

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related program.
• Completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework in a relevant field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work in both office and field settings, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

•  Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors under varying weather and site conditions.
• Ability to reach horizontally and vertically as required.
• Ability to safely use construction and inspection safety equipment.

• Prior internship or fieldwork experience in construction or engineering (not required but a plus).
• Familiarity with construction management software.
