Position Overview:
The Summer Intern will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers to gain hands-on experience in construction management and civil engineering projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while contributing to ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities (Not Limited to):
- Assist with on-site inspections and documentation of construction activities.
- Support the Resident Engineer and project team in ensuring project compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and schedules.
- Prepare daily reports, maintain logs of construction activities, and document site conditions.
- Participate in progress meetings and assist in the resolution of on-site challenges.
- Conduct data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Learn and use construction management software to track project progress and documentation.
- Assist with quality control measures to ensure adherence to project standards.
- Observe and gain exposure to project planning, contractor coordination, and field operations.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related program.
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework in a relevant field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work in both office and field settings, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
